Salt caves are a popular way to make salt free recipes.
They are easy to make, inexpensive and usually contain no salt at all.
You can make them by cooking an unsalted (or at least mild) sauce and then adding water to it.
You don’t need to cook the whole pot.
They usually make the most delicious, salt free biscuits.
They’re easy to prepare, so they’re perfect for any occasion.
They can be used to make savoury, gluten free and nut free biscuits and cakes.
You will need: 1 cup flour 1 cup baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/16 teaspoon ginger 1/6 teaspoon cloves 1/3 cup water salt free sauce or vinegar Instructions Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda together in a bowl.
Add the salt and vinegar and mix well.
Now add the flour mixture to the sauce and mix until it becomes a thick, sticky dough.
Then, form into a ball, wrap it in plastic and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Meanwhile, cook the biscuits in a sauce of 1 tablespoon water and 1 tablespoon vinegar.
Once they’re cooked, remove them from the heat and transfer them to a plate.
You’ll need to refrigerate them for at most one hour.
Then divide the mixture into six equal portions and shape each of those into biscuits.
Make them by folding them into the dough.
Heat a frying pan and heat the oil until hot and the biscuits start to brown on the edges.
Dip them in the hot sauce, and they will sink into the sauce.
Serve with some freshly made tortilla chips, fresh chopped parsley and your choice of sauces.
